In 1993 John and Ros Moriarty conceived the idea of painting a
Qantas jumbo jet with their Aboriginal designs to spread their message about Indigenous culture across Australia
and the world.
Their dream was realised in 1994, when Wunala (Kangaroo) Dreaming, the newest, state of the art 747-400 airliner
in the Qantas fleet, was painted with their design. This was the world's largest moveable piece of Aboriginal art.
The model had been computerised and magnified a hundred times to produce two kilometres of tracing paper that was
wrapped around the fuselage. Wunala Dreaming was rolled out on 4 September 1994.

Les Nayda is made a Member of the Order of Australia (AM).
Les Nayda became known for his work in Aboriginal welfare. When he retired after 30 years in the public sector, he
was the longest serving Aboriginal public servant in Australia.
As the Director of the then Aboriginal Employment Education Development Branch in Adelaide, he helped pioneer the
successful Family Wellbeing program which broke new ground in recognising the effects of colonisation on
Indigenous health.
He also played a key role in the establishment of the Pitjatjantjara Land Rights Act in the early eighties and was
the first Aboriginal to be appointed to the South Australian Parole board.

Centralian Advocate article by Lara Cole entitled, The 'stolen
generation' … looked at from
another perspective - Priest gave many boys their head start in life.
Final paragraph notes that the events of the stolen generation have in hindsight been shown up as a massive
failing in the thinking of the time. But one of the unfortunate sides of this new awareness is that some of the
good has been clouded over.
